An Internet Search

The following list records the Railway and related sites which I have investigated so far in my search for crane information, along with abbreviated notes I have made. Mainly these are pointers to information for later reference.

It is a work in progress, and as I've already chewed through this lot, I'm not currently searching as frequently. So if your site is not listed, or the URL is no longer current please don't feel offended. Feel free to contact me if you have, or know of relevant material at treweek@ cs.waikato.ac nz.

This is not intended as a comprehensive listing. Rather I'm looking for pointers as to what has already been done in this area of research. But I do hope to eventually cover a good chunk (if not all) of the NZ sites that are available.

Process to date - I started with the members links on the Federation of Rail Organisations of New Zealand (FRONZ) website. Then I expanded my search using the links pages on those web pages (some of which are very comprehensive). By this stage I had covered just over 60 sites and was starting to see a lot of repetition. My next step was to go to the Piper's (almost) All the New Zealand Web Sites you will Ever Want! page, which added a few more sites to my list. I then checked the hub page of the The NZ Rail Online webring. My most recent search has been for the New Zealand sites hosted by . "trainweb.com" . Please feel free to contact me if you have corrections to URLs, or a site you think may be relevent.

Please remember also that my interest is cranes and not railways in general - hence the most common comment "No crane content" for what in many cases are quite interesting websites. (Note: 'not relevant to research' indicates the site is not NZR related).
